Wine Maker, Kent Foulker is enthusiastic about the opportunity we have with Double Oak to unite two completely different worlds [wine & spirits] with a single, very well-balanced product. “It’s bold, and has a lot of grip,” Kent says. “…full of peppery, jammy, dark fruit flavor with a kiss of vanilla.”
Starting with a hearty blend of our own Iowa grapes and hand-selected varietals from California, this wine is first aged in traditional oak cooperage, then finished in single-use Cedar Ridge Bourbon barrels, creating deep, bold notes of black currant, vanilla and caramel.
This Double Oak Reserve can be enjoyed with beefsteak and barbecue, or with a medium- to full-strength cigar while relaxing in your favorite leather chair.
