Cedar Ridge Releases Iowa’s First Bottled-In-Bond Bourbon

SWISHER, IOWA – Cedar Ridge, Iowa’s oldest distillery, is crossing a very important milestone. Monday, July 1, 2019 marks a decade since their release of Iowa’s first Bourbon since Prohibition. Jeff Quint, Owner and Founder commented “as Iowa’s leader in true craft Bourbon whiskey production, we’re thrilled with the progress that’s been made across the state over the last ten years, both in terms of putting Iowa on the map in whiskey production and improving the laws here in the state to foster further development of this logical industry for Iowa.”

In celebration, Cedar Ridge will be releasing a distillery exclusive, Cedar Ridge Bottled-In-Bond Iowa Bourbon Whiskey. The Bottled in Bond Act, passed in 1897, was created to regulate the quality of whiskey, requiring it be from one distillery, from one season, made by one distiller and aged at a federally bonded warehouse for a minimum of 4 years at 100 proof. In accordance with This Act, Cedar Ridge Bottled-in-Bond Iowa Bourbon Whiskey was aged for 4 years and finished at 100 proof. “It’s the best juice we have on the property,” says Quint.

Join Cedar Ridge in celebration on-site at their 10th Annual Bourbon & Blues Festival, July 4-7. This 4-day festival features a specialty BBQ and cocktail menu, and live blues music from local, national and international touring musicians including Davy Knowles, Christina Vane, Otis, FunkDaddies and more. Bourbon & Blues Fest is family-friendly and free to attend. “This is our biggest celebration of the year!” says General Manager, Jamie Siefken. “Every year we celebrate our flagship Iowa Bourbon – With this year being our 10 year anniversary and releasing the limited Bottled-In-Bond expression, we decided to up our game on the music performances. It will easily be the most talented group of musicians we have ever assembled here at Cedar Ridge.” For additional event details, visit www.crdistillery.com or @CedarRidgeIowa on Facebook.

Yielding just 270 bottles, the new Bottled-In-Bond Iowa Bourbon Whiskey will be available for purchase onsite at Cedar Ridge beginning on Independence Day, Thursday, July 4, 2019 for $54.99 while supply lasts.

About Cedar Ridge
In 2005, Cedar Ridge became the first licensed distillery in the state of Iowa since Prohibition, when owners Jeff and Laurie Quint aimed to follow a long family tradition of Iowa farmers and distillers, including Jeff’s father and grandfather, who produced locally made brandies. Cedar Ridge produces wines from its own estate-grown grapes and crafts its award-winning spirits in its four custom-engineered German pot stills. The lush 5,000 vines and 15,000 square foot winery, distillery, tasting room and event center provide quality wines, spirits and an exciting entertainment experience for Eastern Iowa.
