SWISHER, IA (Nov. 10, 2021) – Cedar Ridge Distillery is releasing two new seasonal whiskeys – Bottled-In-Bond Rye and Double Barrel Bourbon – on November 19.
Available only for a limited time, these seasonal releases offer an opportunity for whiskey lovers to try a Cedar Ridge’ flagship bourbon finished in a secondary oak cask and a 100 proof version of its classic straight rye that commemorates the 1897 Bottled-In-Bond Act.
Cedar Ridge Distillery team members will be sampling both releases at Whiskey Fest Des Moines on Saturday, November 20, as well as its retail tasting room in rural Swisher while supplies last.
Double Barrel Bourbon
Cedar Ridge transferred its flagship bourbon into a second, new American oak barrel to capture the flavors of its freshly charred staves. The secondary finishing cask draws out the bold qualities of the brand’s flagship bourbon and the rich flavors of Iowa corn.
At 105 proof, the first release of Double Barrel Bourbon will be available at Cedar Ridge Distillery and select retailers in Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota at a suggested price of $49.99, while the supply lasts.
Bottled-In-Bond Rye
This special release commemorates the 1897 Bottled-In-Bond Act. Aged for four years in Cedar Ridge’s federally bonded warehouses, Bottled-In-Bond Rye Whiskey offers a new way to taste the brand’s rye whiskey. Adhering to every bottled-in-bond rule, each barrel selected for this release was chosen from the same season.
At 85% rye this whiskey reflects the hard work of the farm it came from; its bold spice and hints of toasted biscuit up front are balanced by the measured sweetness of Iowa corn on its finish. And at 100 proof, you can taste the complexity from the 4 years the unpredictable Iowa climate imparted on this yearly special release.
